Mr. Palmer provides leadership to the sales, conference services and educational opportunity teams first as a consultant and then for a year as the Vice President of Sales and Guest experience and in 2014 once again as a consultant. The goal was to increase utilization of the center and create positive youth experiences for those who participate in programs at the Center. Mr. Palmer began work at National 4-H Youth Center as a Treeline consulting client. He was initially engaged as a sales and marketing consultant that provided specific expertise in marketing to the student and youth travel industry. Mr. Palmer transitioned into a full time position in January 2013 and serviced in that capacity for one year. In 2014 he is once again serving as a consultant. The Center is Washington D.C.'s premier youth hotel and conference center. Owned and operated by the National 4-H Council, the center services youth groups, student retreats, school trips and conferences on its 12-acre campus. It has 246 guest rooms, 41 meeting rooms totaling 44,000 sq. ft., a state of the art 525 person auditorium, cafe and more.

This is the leading trade association for the student and young adult travel market in the United States and Canada. As a Treeline client we helped grow the organization from start up to 800 plus member companies with a budget over $2 million. Mr. Palmer served as the organization spokesperson to the press, in governmental affairs, to the travel industry and to the educational community. Palmer helped create an ongoing awareness campaign, membership recruitment program, an international membership initiative (5% of members are from outside of North America), research initiatives and established the strategic planning process. Mr. Palmer also helped lead the effort to create and then manage an accreditation program and a certification program for the industry.

As one of the two partners in this tour company Mr. Palmer helped grow the company from $300,000 in sales to just under $8 million. The company grew from 3 people to 27 full time and 50 part time employees. Major areas of responsibilities included sales, website/technology, accounting, and vendor relations. In his first full year Mr. Palmer personally sold $1 million in sales and created one of the first PC based tour operator management information systems in the industry. Mr. Palmer served on the Technology Advisory and Student Travel Task forces for the National Tour Association.
