Responsible for collecting data from the time a patient is met by a first responder until 30 days after they are discharged. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) requires Trauma Centers to submit information quarterly so they can gather accurate information and see the complete picture of the patients as well as provide us with benchmarking reports to compare us to like hospitals. We monitor and compare trends, frequency, outcomes, timeliness, etc. This helps assist our care providers, both locally and across the nation, with education, efficiency, and resources to best take care of the traumatically injured and decrease mortality rates.
