I enthusiastically recommend Lucas as an excellent addition to a programming team! He is intelligent and thorough, has strong pattern recognition skills and applies what he learns to each new task and situation. Lucas started doing SSRS report layouts for us back around 2008. Over time, we had to give him more and more to do to keep him busy, so he started helping us with web browser UI issues, improving our CSS. We then started him on jQuery and HTML 5 UI enhancements. Eventually, he became so productive on the client side we had him start working on his own server side handlers for AJAX browser requests and even backend SQL queries. Lucas works very well independently, able to delve into complicated layout and UI requirements on his own. Nor does he forget he is on team: he quickly developed good practices regarding updates to and from source control. He adapts well and has done excellent work for us in Javascript, jQuery, VB.NET, C#, TSQL and more. He tests his work thoroughly, which results in less trouble down the line. Lucas understands the big picture of how a large complex system fits together and the nature of making incremental changes in a friendly, approachable way. He has been a valuable asset on our team.
