Derek was an asset to my team. He began working for us as a systems consultant, installing our archiving solutions for enterprise clients and did a great job. He was very proficient with our solutions as well as the OSs, 3rd party software, and hardware platforms we relied on. In addition to being a proficient technologist, he's a good business person. He was able to help our sales teams look for new opportunities, improve our proposed solutions and help us close good deals. His organization and documentation skills (he was very good at documenting our processes and "how to" instructions for new hires) lead me to give him responsibility for managing our deployments (and other engineers), which he did very well. I recommend him highly.
