Flexographic, Digital, and Rotary Screen Printing Machinery (self adhesive label, flexible and pharmaceutical packaging, plastic identification cards, paper cups & a variety of specialist industrial applications). Customers included CCL, Debenhams, Océ, Rolls Royce plus pharmaceutical companies such as Tyco Healthcare. I pioneered paper cup accounts such as Solo Cups and Seda. Specialist industrial applications included 3M and W.H. Brady. I also directed the first narrow web flexible packaging press in the U.K., and developed a line of businesses printing dart flights. Other successes included franking machine labels (Ascom) and developing a new line of business in tickets with Ticketmedia Limited. Responsibilities demanded regular contact with the entire known database, ensuring that existing customers did not fall prey to competitors, whilst, at the same time, trying to maximise on competitor opportunities. I always "looked outside of the box" and continually hunted for lucrative prospects where the opposition was limited or non-existent (and in this way built up some profitable new lines of business revenue streams). There were also tie-ups with Agfa digital printing, and, also, Stork rotary screen, I. Kela hot foil, Aldo Berra hot foil and screen, Tamarack in-line RFID, Las-X laser die-cutting, Ben Bunch fan folding, Alphasonics' ultrasonic cleaning equipment and Gannicott in-line batching and stacking equipment. In 3 years, 40% of business came from brand new customers - more than £3,500,000 worth of revenue in total. Average order value was £350,000, and ranged from a £10,000 plate mounter to £1,000,000 packaging presses. Show less

Offset Litho Print and Print Finishing Division. I made the move into selling capital equipment with web offset litho presses such as Miyakoshi and Toray (Japan), Automation and May Autoset (Germany) and web finishing equipment such as Hunkeler (Switzerland). Selling into business forms and direct mail companies that I knew from Barlow Data, I achieved £1,000,000 in the first year, from companies such as Kalamazoo, Lonsdale Business Forms and BPC Waterlow Petty. This was the first time that Oscar Friedheim had employed a specialist business forms equipment sales person. Average order value in the region of £150,000 ranging from £50,000 to £500,000. Target approx. £1,250,000 Show less
