Miguel Bruns Alonso
Pim has been my student assistant on the (research) project Kokkerelletje (Cookie Riot). In this project Pim has shown great project management skills, taking up extensive responsibility in developing the prototype of a kitchen for children and designing its games and project website. Furthermore, he organized the four exhibitions of the project during the Dutch Design Week 2013 and supports in setting up the experiments. Pim is a trustworthy and responsible person, with a great set of personal as well as technical skills both addressing software and hardware development. To address the societal challenge of obesity, Kokkerelletje aims at increasing the value of healthy and sustainable food consumption through education. In contrast to traditional interventions the current project intends to stimulate a learning by doing approach to teach children about the values regarding health and sustainability in a cooking context. My position and focus within the project is on developing and linking different systems such as object recognition through video, a game platform and data gathering. In addition I am also working on one of the games for the product. Show less
