Working under the direction of Dr. Richard Buchholz in galliforme research on intestinal health and parasitology. Specifically working with turkeys, I am researching the use of acid steatocrit in diagnosing fat malabsorption from the parasite coccidis, as well as the underling effects this information could lead to the greater scientific community. There is a connection between malabsorption of fat as well as pancreatic insufficiency in Cystic Fibrosis patients, and this study will hopefully bring more insight to the cause.
