May 10, 2020 Recommendation for Tina Louise Jones, I have known and worked with Tina for over 18 years. I first met Tina when she was working on her MFA in Lighting Design here at the University of Connecticut. Tina’s lighting design is clean and concise and her process and paperwork is impeccable. Since her graduation, I have worked with her as the technical director or advisor on a number of scene designs that she created for the Connecticut Repertory Theatre. Tina’s work is always on time, neat and complete. She is an accomplished hand drafter and AutoCAD user and her accuracy translates into efficiency in the planning and construction phases of production. Tina has also worked her as an adjunct professor teaching the undergraduate scene design class and more recently we co-taught an AutoCAD 2D and 3D class in the undergraduate curriculum. Tina is extremely bright and energetic and she is able to embrace new features in the software and exploit them in a creative and informative atmosphere. She is tireless and is constantly striving to improve her working techniques and her students. She understands technology and employs it as a tool – easily shifting to conventional hand drafting or drawing techniques when speed and efficiency dictate that choice. Tina has very high standards and presses the students to strive to improve. She is strong yet compassionate and her dedication to her profession is inspiring. She is breath of fresh air whenever she is teaching and her enthusiasm is infectious. Tina is also an accomplished set dresser and consistently finds work in the region’s movie industry as a free-lance designer with a reputation for imaginative designs that are always in-budget. I recommend Tina without reservation, she is an individual with teaching credentials that are backed and validated by the experience of a working professional. I am available for any further information you might require. I can be reached by phone at 860-786-8289 (Cell) or by email at jack.nardi@uconn.edu. Sincerely, Jack Nardi Associate Professor, Dramatic Arts – Emeritus Formerly: Technical Director, Sound Supervisor The Connecticut Repertory Theatre at the University of Connecticut, Storrs
Ronald Jarrett, J.D.
Tina is a highly creative, frugal, and passionate person who is also one of the nicest and patient people I know. Her grace and creative problem-solving skills made a very difficult shoot a visual success. I would work with her again and consider her a valuable asset to any Art department.
