During my postdoctoral period my aim was to understand the regulation of mitochondrial function in obesity, the metabolic syndrome and inherited mitochondrial disorders. The overall aim was to get insights into disease pathophysiology and to develop novel treatments. Participated in clinical trial conducted in weight discordant twins. Four published articles on the central topics of the research group (i.e. the role of mitochondria in obesity, and novel treatment options).
