Digital Marketing Manager
-
Oct 2020 - Sep 2021
Working within a small company, the work I do fits within the framework of a variety of traditional job roles. As a digital marketing manager, I lead a small team in the creation of digital marketing campaigns. I also maintain a strong social media presence and monitor and report on the performance of the campaigns. Being able to analyse performance reports, combined with effectively taking on board public feedback informs and improves future digital marketing campaigns, as well as my approach to them. Not only do I direct the team in designing content plans, I provide feedback on team generated content as well as create and publish graphic and written content. Being proficient at using content management systems allows for the seamless publication of my articles to the website. With so much content produced, it is important that I have a keen eye for detail to ensure the highest standard of quality is maintained. Since managing my team and their projects through Azure DevOps, I have become increasingly organised in the development of project plans.

Created weekly online articles about local, national, and international events that affected the students at the University of Nottingham. During this time, I created multi-sourced, analytical content. The research for these articles were gained by reputable written sources and through the conducting of interviews. These interviews were checked for their veracity, accuracy, and importance. Impact magazine has given me the tools necessary to create targeted content that is comprehensive and concise, meaning I can make complex topics and ideas easy to understand in a short space of time. These articles ranged from interviews with British Nationals quarantined in Wuhan, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to articles about homelessness in Nottingham. This enabled me to develop my interest in writing about current affairs. Through closely working with my editor, Impact magazine has promoted my conversational and organisational skills. It has also given me the tools necessary to create audience focussed content that is comprehensive and concise.

I created, wrote, and directed a scripted mockumentary short and produced a series showcasing various University societies (‘What Soc’). Through these experiences, I became adept at being a camera, light, and sound operator. I also received live broadcast training, giving me the ability to set up a live show. This training culminated in my directing of The Gist: Liveshow, an all-female panel show in celebration of International Women's Day. Planning and producing this live show demonstrated my team working ability, as well as my ability to create content in a fast-paced environment.

My role centred around the production of long-form articles on largescale geopolitical issues. I wrote articles on 2019’s ‘Operation Peace Spring,’ and the Dunning Kruger effect in relation to an individuals comprehension of political topics. In this role, I developed the ability to research and analyse a high quantity of sources, which tends itself to a high level of critical thinking. English Language Assistant

Oct 2018 - May 2019
During my university year abroad placement I taught English as a foreign language to students between the ages of 15 and 21. I developed their oral skills and their comprehension of the English language; through organising activities, lessons, and assignments. I was also responsible for the general wellbeing of the students and experienced working with a wide range of ages. I gained organisational skills and developed my ability to work well independently by planning and organising my own lessons. To engage the students, I used a wide range of techniques, allowing me to develop my creativity in creating original content.

Half my role was maintaining a safe environment for customers whilst out on a dive whilst the other half was giving customers a good experience either within the dive shop or out on a dive. Being able to lead a group of people whilst constantly evaluating the risk of the task, before, during and after the dive was the predominant way of keeping customers safe and happy. Moreover, it was important to have and relay your expertise in biology, geography, and diving to the customers in order to answer their queries. This expertise also extended to the sale of equipment and dive plans within the store. Maintaining the shop front and the equipment was also important in regards to keeping the customers happy and safe.
