The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance to inventors so they can transform their products / services to commercial opportunities. In addition to the national the grant allocated to a maximum of three laureates receive the 24 regional finalists each 20 000 and a diploma. The jury may also award honorable mentions. Young Innovation Sweden’s (YIS) / (Ung Innovation Sveriges - UIS), mission was to support the development and renewal of the innovation sector for young people (0-30 years) in Sweden. This was done through advice, information and financial support so that ideas could move on to the market for commercialization. YIS/UIS was working hard to raise the knowledge and education in innovation in Sweden. Quality, speed, team-work, entrepreneurship, real value-adding activities, flexibility and transparency where examples of crucial substance to YIS’s/UIS’s former work. YIS/UIS tried to work nationally and long term.Examples from the YIS/UIS efforts: Consultancy - based on a modern structure, paced and demanding of good quality. A driving champion was given the opportunity to get coaching and quality support from experts who quickly could put in the expertise, networks and capital to help to bring the project’s to new markets. Education - with a focus on sustainability. UIS provided training for teachers and school leaders to stimulate future entreprenaurs to innovational and lateral thinking. Arena - an interactive meeting place to enable innovators an arena for continues ducation and counseling.
