Andrea and I volunteered together for the Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society. And when Taproot says "business talent" they really mean it. Andrea Keller Helsel is one of the most talented, insightful, intelligent, and organized individuals I've worked with in my 18 years in marketing, advertising, and communications. As Brand Strategist, Andrea honed in on key insights about Safe Shores, its main constituencies, and where its brand worked effectively, and not. In doing this, Andrea was able to craft a strategic platform onto which our team's Copywriter could create messaging with true impact. Without a solid brand strategy in place, our team could not have helped Safe Shores elevate its brand and communicate more effectively to its audiences. Working with Andrea was simply an honor. She's whip smart, funny, and constantly kept the team focused. Andrea is someone I'd like to work with every day. Not only is she receptive to other people's ideas, she has this amazing way of taking in all the information, synthesizing it, and making it actionable for all involved. And in doing this, you walk away knowing the goals are challenging, but absolutely attainable. This, in my opinion, is a sign of a true leader. Andrea pushes teams to do and be their best. I know I'm am a better marketer having worked with her.

Andrea and I worked together on a Taproot Foundation pro-bono project. She performed the role of Brand Strategist on our Key Messaging and Brand Strategy project for Safe Shores in Washington DC. Andrea's can do attitude and professionalism throughout the project made a significant impact on our team. She was a key member and driving force behind our high quality deliverables to the client.
