Joe, among with a few other students, were the chapter founder of NSBE at SDSMT. I got recruited by the founding members and Joe was the first chapter president at the time. I enjoyed being under his leadership. He was charismatic enough to keep the members together and his leadership helped the chapter grow from 6 members to 11, 15 members within a few years. Joe set a target to help members develop their professional skills and have interaction outside of SDSMT. We raised enough fund to get every member to the NSBE national conferences twice in a row. Joe got and absolutely deserved Cushman Rising Star Award for his leadership. NSBE won the outstanding organization award during his 2nd year of leading the organization.

Responsibilities: •Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Engineering Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing •Oversee daily process performance of CZ growers including off-hour support as needed •Monitor and report performance of processes including root cause analysis of under performance •Identify, plan and execute projects that improve CZ value stream performance aligned with AOP •Work with CZ R&D, Operations and other functions to support safety, environment, quality, and inventory of product and supplies •Support discrepant material review •Work with CZ Maintenance, Equipment Engineers and Operations to improve equipment reliability and performance •Reduce variability and pursue proactive solutions •Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S •Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments •Perform other duties as assigned by department management Show less
