I have had the pleasure of working both with and for Kim Cross, in her role as Development Director and President/CEO positions at Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. She is truly a dedicated, focused, hardworking and innovative Leader! Her skills and tenure demonstrate a strong work ethic, positivity and executive level professionalism. Her passion for teamwork, comradery have been inspirational to all. Kim is truly an asset to any team or organization!
Kathleen Norton-Schock
I have had the pleasure of working with Kim Cross, in several capacities --- first when she was an advisor to @ardentCause L3C (as we were building our nonprofit client base) and then, more deeply, when she was the Interim CEO for the @Michigan Council of Women In Technology Foundation. Kim is the consummate professional. A life-long learner, she has relentlessly built nonprofit funding development and leadership expertise combining as much formal nonprofit leadership education as possible (getting CGMS, CFRE, and CAP certificates) with dedicated, hands-on, deep and consistent activity. I have seen her effectively create and lead strategy; build strong pipelines of donations/grants; implement highly effective and innovative programs; recruit and foster staff and inspire volunteers to higher levels of service; and much more. Knowing that almost all non-profits operate in a culture characterized by real (or implied) scarcity coupled with passionate mission-orientation, Kim has always functioned as a steady beacon of reason, a champion of agile assessment, and a catalyst for strong results. If I was starting a nonprofit, today, I could not imagine a better leader, consultant nor collaborator to help start it, and keep it growing. If I was leading a long-established nonprofit, I could not imagine a better teammate and guide. If you have the chance to work with Kim, grab it. Your organization will benefit, immeasurably.
