Having worked shoulder to shoulder with Mark for many years, I can say without hesitation that he is one of the best engineers in the business. He has an expert-level understanding of software engineering and Devops, both in principle and in practice, and knows enough to have strong opinions while at the same time being practical enough to know when it's appropriate to compromise. Mark is incredibly talented, hardworking, diligent, and raises the bar for any team lucky enough to have him as a member. Beyond mere technical aptitude, Mark keeps a level head and a good sense of humor, mentors junior members of the team, and generally creates a positive atmosphere that brings out the best in his team and the company.

After spending the last two years working with Mark, I can't give him anything less than my highest recommendation to any team that has interest in acquiring him. With an incredibly broad skillset (architecting infrastructure as code, monitoring, front-end expertise and automation, to name a few) Mark brings what few can to a DevOps team, all with a fun and personable attitude. Any team considering Mark Mutti is making a very intelligent choice.

This not-for-profit docuseries combines my passions for the outdoors, human interest, and technology by documenting the tug-of-war between civilization and Mother Nature in Angeles National Forest (ANF), an enormous forest in the heart of Los Angeles County. It would not be possible without heavy use of AWS! A popular technological component of the project is "NF (National Forest) FireBot", an opensource project I created in Python for my own use that has taken on a life of its own, used heavily by US Forest Service wildland firefighters throughout the year, especially during fire season. This project has created a litany of technical challenges, including a complex media transcoding pipeline I've designed and automated, and housing 9TB+ of media on a fiber-linked NAS backed up into AWS S3 with AWS Glacier cold storage. The website is also hosted in AWS using CloudFront, S3, ACM, GitHub Actions, and Terraform I authored. Show less
