Ryan has built multiple valuable web sites, custom plugins and advanced e-commerce infrastructures. He's hard working, innovative and a good communicator. He responds to challenges very well and looks for comprehensive solutions to them.

Sequoia was acquired in September of 2017 and I was asked to be a part of the transition team due to my crucial role in building the framework of Sequoia. I have been leading the training and knowledge transfer to the Surefire development team on our HVAC Multisite framework, HVAC IQ system selector code, and SiteLink operations. As the senior web developer, I was responsible for all client themes, deployment of new sites, building custom apps and plugins, developing deployment strategies, and maintaining our codebase across Github. Specific projects and deliverables included: Rebuilt our SaaS app, SiteLink, to use WordPress and the REST API. SiteLink is a product feed that gets data from Carrier Corporation on HVAC products and syndicates it, allowing clients to customize and embed a live feed on their website via a simple script. Created an algorithm to lead a consumer with the purchase decision for a new HVAC System, resulting in an on-line price quote being delivered. This custom WordPress plugin acts as a decision tree to choose the appropriate heating and cooling system for the user’s home and further provide correlating pricing instantly. Going back to the company's inception, their websites were on Joomla, and I eventually led the charge to migrate the entire network to WordPress. The goal here was to leave the custom multi-tenant environment that we built upon Joomla, and integrate with WordPress MultiSite. This added a better ecosystem of tools and developer knowledge that we could pull from to aid our customer base. I laid out the upgrade path from how to migrate the database information to duplicating layouts as themes in the new WordPress setup. As part of its start up, the company acquired hundreds of websites built on a proprietary platform. I created a PHP script to transfer all those sites to WordPress, with minimal manual effort needed. Built several MultiSite networks as well as custom plugins for internal use. Each network served a specific set of clients, our primary one had nearly 700 websites running on it. I used MultiSite for efficiency, as most clients shared theme layouts and being able to manage one codebase was much more practical. Custom plugins to handle things like customer roles and simplifying the WordPress admin area for users. Show less
