Lab Automate has invented & developed the A3G(Automated Andersen Cascade Impactor, or automated ACI). ACI, is a key instrument used to conduct the FDA required APSD (Aerodynamic Particle Size Distribution) tests on Inhaled Drugs. The A3G can do APSD sample preps for pMDI, DPI or Nasal products at 28.3, 30, 60 and 90 lpm. The instrument actuates into DUSA tube as well, using it’s built in pMDI shaker/Actuator. The A3G does APSD sample prep, including inhaler shaking & actuation, washing and drying in twenty four minutes, and breaks even in about six to eight months. In tests done by Zydus and Glenmark, it has demonstrated a mass balance of 97%. It is protected by 24 issued patents and more are on the way. Lab Automate offer a suite of products (www.labautomate.net) and services, including APSD services using the A3G. Set up an operating unit in India to manufacture the instrument, and the A3G is well liked by the Industry and the FDA and is expected to save billions of dollars in the drug development and approval process to the industry. Lab Automate won the Gold Award in the Mass Challenge Business Plan competition in Boston out of over 1200 competing companies and was in the top 10 of Med Ventures Business Competition in Texas.
