I worked with Ray for the last few years. He was part of the Garage and Solution Engineering team where we defined the IBM point of few for a modern approach to Service Management and Operations. In this capacity, Ray was our champion and go-to-person for Monitoring - in the cloud and on the cloud. Ray also hosted our weekly technical retrospectives, managed the Kanban and facilitated Tech Talks. Ray co-led with me the migration to cloud service management and site reliability engineering (SRE) at a large manufacturing client. In this multi-year project, we holistically changed the approach to operations by enhancing the technical toolchains, improved and automated processes and changed the culture from a reactive to a pro-active and toil-avoiding mindset. I am very sorry so see Ray leaving the team and wish him all the best in his new endeavors.
