The event recognised an initiative by London's diplomatic community to re-affirm their support for the UK's resolution to promote the Olympic Truce, which was co-sponsored unanimously by UN Member States in October 2011. Attended by representatives from more than fifty embassies, UNA-UK members and members of the NGO community, the event witnessed the presentation of a unique collection of letters of support for the Olympic Truce written by ninety Heads of Missions to London, led by HE Mr Khaled Al-Duwaisan GCVO, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, to UNA-UK's Executive Director, Phil Mulligan. The unique gift will now reside in the Library of Central Hall Westminster alongside its UN memorabilia from 1946. http://www.una.org.uk/media/galleries/una-westminister-olympic-truce-event-central-hall#!prettyPhoto Show less

After contributing to the Chinese Youth radio programme on numerous occasions, I spent some time understanding the 'other side of the glass' of broadcasting a radio programme as a producer / presenter. The role required a firm grip on current affairs and then the ability to contact and recruit news-makers from around the world to contribute to the programme within a set time frame. Interviewing celebrities, politicians and inviting leading academics to contribute to topical debates on the hour long programme. Quick thinking and engaging with complete strangers and then successfully confirming a guest for the evening's programme were all part of the daily workload. • Attended European Commission Mediane - Media in Europe for Diversity Inclusiveness • Working with community leaders and the public, resolving problems and concerns • Interviewed Hong Kong Cantopop Queen Miss Joey Yung • Hosted numerous outside broadcast: • Mayor of London Chinese New Year Celebrations 2009-2012 • HKETO Lions Club Dragon Boat festivals 2009-2012 • LCCA Mid Autumn Festivals 2009-2012 • Master of ceremonies for numerous events, charitable dinners • Meeting with fellow producers, presenters and sales team to discuss the needs of the programme; • Generating and developing new programme ideas; • Assisted in sales lead generation, marketing; • Assessing contributors' suitability for the programme, researching and booking appropriate people and locations; • Briefing presenters on topics, updating scripts and editing news reports from RTHK; • Sourcing copyright for literary and music sources and gaining clearance for any materials used; • Finding interviewees to conduct initial interviews with and getting vox pop responses to current events from members of the public.
