Project: Performance evaluation of the Polystyrene sites in Europe in term of materials balance. The main scope of this evaluation was to do a performance comparison of the polystyrene industrial sites. The goal was to identify and quantify material losses points in the process lines with the aim to improve the purge and material loss management. This study was made in collaboration with engineers and operators on site and the manager in support technique for PS sites. Main activities: Review and update of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), study the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PI&D), estimate and quantify production losses of polystyrene in different sites, propose recommendations in order to valorize the purges of the process.Achievement: Benchmarking study for 3 polystyrene sites in Europe.This project was part of the Master Program specialized in "Processes and Polymers".

Project: Study the alkylation reaction of benzene with dodecene over zeolite catalysts at different exchange level.Main activities: Synthesis of 8 samples of Y zeolite, preparation of 8 samples of commercial zeolites, structure modification of the catalysts by treatment with an ammonium nitrate solution at different concentration, temperatures and exchange cycles, application of characterizations techniques (XRF, XRD, IR, NH3 - TPD, isomerization of 1-butene, and alkylation reaction of benzene and dodecene) to all the modified zeolites.Achievement: Contribution with the research line about heterogeneous catalysis over zeolites, participation in scientific articles, written reports for further research projects.
