Project: Performance evaluation of the Polystyrene sites in Europe in term of materials balance. The main scope of this evaluation was to do a performance comparison of the polystyrene industrial sites. The goal was to identify and quantify material losses points in the process lines with the aim to improve the purge and material loss management. This study was made in collaboration with engineers and operators on site and the manager in support technique for PS sites. Main activities: Review and update of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), study the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PI&D), estimate and quantify production losses of polystyrene in different sites, propose recommendations in order to valorize the purges of the process.Achievement: Benchmarking study for 3 polystyrene sites in Europe. This project was part of the Master Program specialized in "Processes and Polymers".
