Jaclyn is among the most extraordinary people I’ve had the fortune to work alongside. As a new and young Board nominee her goal was to provide a platform for young construction industry / construction law professionals and as a Board member she went about prosecuting that goal with energy, commitment and tenacity. Her ability to translate a vision into a strategy and a plan and then to execute that plan and deliver real outcomes and change is unparalleled. I look forward to the next opportunity to work with her.

My brief contact with Jaclyn in October 2012 was enough to demonstrate to me her clear interest in construction law and in the principles and practice of the law generally and her sharp and inquisitive mind.

    • ICC YAF Representative - Australia
      • Jan 2017 - Nov 2017

2017 – 2019 mandate I was appointed as the sole Australian representative on the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrator Forum (ICC YAF). Open to those aged 40 and under, ICC YAF provides a variety of opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop their skills and understand ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services. Throughout the world, representatives organise a number of educational and social events that give young professionals the chance to discover best practices, discuss topical issues and network with experienced practitioners. My appointment ceased upon my departure from the jurisdiction, effective November 2017. Show less

I started with Corrs Chambers Westgarth as a paralegal, primarily supporting the litigation and construction teams on a large landfill dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria. I spent two years in this role while completing my studies, supporting various practice groups primarily on litigious matters. Toward the end of my studies, I was offered a role as a lawyer, bypassing a role in the graduate program in recognition of my advanced technical abilities and industry experience. I commenced in the construction team as a lawyer in September 2013, and spent my first 9 months on secondment as a Legal Advisor to the Victorian Government for the Victorian Desalination Project. The majority of my practice was in disputes advisory work on major projects and mega-projects in the LNG industry across Queensland and Western Australia, with a large percentage of that time spent working directly in client teams. I was promoted to the role of Associate in July 2015, and then to Senior Associate in January 2017. In addition to my legal work I also managed content creation strategy for our national practice, bridging both construction and arbitration. I established and successfully implemented a social media strategy for our practice group, including the development of the ‘High Vis’ podcast. I identified strategic opportunities for the practice group to develop industry engagement across business development, academia, and professional development. I also played a key role in the training program implemented for graduate lawyers commencing in the practice group. Show less
