During the academic year of 2022/2023, I had the esteemed responsibility of serving as the President of the Student Democracy (SDSN) at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in a full-time position. SDSN is established to represent and advocate for the interests and viewpoints of students with the university and externally. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to represent them and work for our collective benefit. As the President of SDSN, I had the pleasure of addressing my fellow students' pivotal issues in education, welfare, learning environment, and study quality. Moreover, I worked diligently to fortify SDSN, ensuring the organisation was optimally equipped to represent and uphold the interests of all students. Representing all students at USN was an honour I wore with pride. As part of this commitment, I also had the participated in the rector's leadership group, a central forum for direct dialogue with the university management. Following my contributions and dedication at USN, I decided to run for a position in the National Union of Students in Norway. I was subsequently elected as the Head of Academics and Research. This further attests to my dedication and capability to work for the best interests of students on a national level. As President of SDSN, I had the tasks of chairing the meetings of SDSN's leadership group, drafting, and monitoring the budget and action plan, while also acting as the supervisory leader for the rest of the executive committee and organisational consultants. The University of South-Eastern Norway has afforded me numerous opportunities to learn and grow. USN, with its eight campuses, stands as a cornerstone of higher education in South-Eastern Norway. Being part of the rector's leadership group was an enlightening experience. Collaborating with the university management has deepened my understanding of the entire university and college sector in Norway, which will be invaluable in my future career. Show less
