I had the distinct pleasure of reporting to Karl while exploring new product development at Compassion International as part of our Innovation team. Karl is an incredible leader with a passion for empowering others and providing excellent coaching when required. Karl is an astute leader with an extraordinary forward-thinking vision and innovative mindset that allows out-of-the-box ideas to take shape, positively impacting the organization. Karl is very knowledgeable about the innovative product development process while also maintaining an amazing emotional intelligence to read the room and understand what is needed to break through roadblocks. Karl's vision casting, leadership, and excellent leadership were key to allowing me to realize rapid success in getting a large paradigm-changing test launched which is now gaining steam to quickly become the new way business is conducted in the field. Thank you, Karl! I truly miss serving beside you, sir!

Karl sees the spark in those around him that makes them powerful and unique, then kindles and encourages their skills and strengths so they can be a better version of themselves every day. And yet he does it in a magical sort of way where no one ever feels like they’re not good enough. Rather, he ignites their imagination with what’s possible, both personally and in solving good problems at work collaboratively, and everyone wants to keep striving for it. He’s excellent at finding the best fit for each individual’s skills and talents, while simultaneously offering challenging work so they neither get bored nor languish in ‘comfortable’ work. Many people call themselves leaders, yet Karl is one of the only leaders I’ve ever wanted to follow. He is unflinchingly dedicated to giving others autonomy and empowering them. He resources those around him to do their job well and gives them the space to do it in the way they imagine it. Even when someone does work in a different way than he would have done it, he supports them every step of the way. Karl will never force a solution on anyone but is always willing to coach and help when asked. When he walks into a room, he brings a laser focus and sustained energy force to the entire group. He is truly customer obsessed and a resourceful innovator. Karl is an incredible agile coach and practitioner, is highly intuitive as well as informed, and is the most calculated strategist I know. I’m beyond grateful to have reported to him for almost 2 years and will carry his philosophies and everything he has taught me into the rest of my career. Words cannot quite express how much I highly recommend him for any leadership, innovative, or strategic endeavor at hand.

I am fortunate to serve Warner faculty, staff, and students as the Chair of the Business & Finance and Audit committees. At Warner, during my tenure, we have worked to take a school with a great mission and people and build an amazing support system under it by raising the bar we hold for our fiscal management, our financial accountability, our student financial responsibilities, and overall governance of the business of running a liberal arts school. We have achieved a massive success in returning the school to stability and our students can see that we are prospering with additions of dorms, a football field, a new athletic center, a beautiful new baseball stadium, and a fantastic agriculture building, among many 99% invisible upgrades to our infrastructure and processes. It is all thanks to a dedicated administration, loving and generous donors, wonderful faculty and staff, and most of all students who believe Warner is the place where they can become transformed into people with Christ-like character and intellectual maturity. Building compelling onboarding journeys and member experiences that get more people, more active, more often is what our team of teams does. It’s my humble pleasure to steward a wonderful group of nearly 50 folks from a program management vector toward delivering ever-better solutions more rapidly and more sustainably than yesterday. E-commerce, customer journey management, onboarding experiences… the team of teams does it all. I was fortunate to be a founding member of the Global Innovation team at Compassion, serving under a newly hired Senior Vice President of Global Innovation who had decades of renown innovation successes under his belt. I was responsible for designing and building an innovation process and product mindset for our team and implementing it through fail fast, learn fast iterations seeking to more rapidly deliver value to our beneficiaries and our donors. Creating a culture of innovation was a key driver of our behaviors as well, working to unlock the ideas across our network of relationships, and moving toward a digitally enabled two-sided-platform model of business. I was fortunate to lead 7+ teams supporting a global technology infrastructure through their agile transformation. I was a coach, scrum master, leader, matrix manager, and subject matter expert as we improved our end point management, our global legacy and cloud infrastructure, as well as coaching other disparate groups as they worked toward being agile.

I am a Design Engineer and Operations Development Technical Program Manager focusing on cutting edge products and new factory build activities. This includes new product development design, developing processes, people, and manufacturing lines, designing and building high tech data collection and analysis systems; and then preparing for execution for exciting new composite product that will surely find it's way onto some of the fastest bike racers bike's (and hopefully your bike too!) around the world. SRAM Design Engineer - Feb 2013-Dec 2016 I am a composites design engineer focusing on mountain bike wheels with SRAM. Leveraging my manufacturing and new product development experience at Zipp, I am now working to create halo product for the highly competitive and discerning mountain bike market. Expanding upon my domestic manufacturing and composite experience, I am now working with a diverse international supply chain to create and insure excellent design, perform rigorous testing, and employ best in class manufacturing of our new carbon mountain wheel products. From May 2016 until December 2016, I have also progressively had an increasingly focus on project managing an exciting factory build-out in Taiwan. Zipp Speed Weaponry Manufacturing Engineer and Project Manager - April 2011-March 2013 I manage the manufacturing, engineering, and technical functions of rim molding as well as co-led the development of much of our high tech factory control, automation, and analysis system and developed the data structure for it. Focusing on delivering actionable data to the user; data collection methods, process management, and electro-mechanical system integration provided tools to help employees make the best possible product for our customers. Also of note, I was fortunate to be the New Product Manufacturing Engineer on the 303 Firecrest, 202 Firecrest, and Super9 Carbon Clincher, taking those products from design state to the high capacity manufacturing system.
