I worked part time during my university studies. This included working within the kitchen preparing the food and working on the front counter serving and assisting the costumers. Tasks in the kitchen required working as a member in a large team to ensure food was prepared quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining high hygiene standards and food quality. This also involved heavy interaction with the shift managers and helped boost my communication skills.Working on the front counter allowed for a large amount of costumer interaction , increasing my overall people skills. It was vital to work at a very fast rate to provide the customer with their order quickly, whilst ensuring the food was hot, presented well and the costumer was satisfied with the service.

I worked on both stock replenishment (food department) and also on the tills. I achieved a 94% score under the secret shopper scheme during my time there, highlighting my excellent communication and personal skills. When working at Marks and Spencer I was given Customer Care training and learnt how to deal with a variety of different customers and their needs, particularly those who were elderly. I am therefore able to work and interact with a large variety of people with confidence and ease. I also learnt the importance of an organised work ethic during my time there, as shelves had to be replenished regularly and quickly.
