I worked as the product lead building a journey that motivates our members through the process of reducing their carbon footprint. To meet their goal, we work to minimize their energy consumption through creating meaningful experiences that keep users engaged with their clean energy supplier and focus on the impact of their usage. Our team has crafted experiences span from behavioural reward programs, to dynamic smart home management tools that learn and optimize comfort preferences. With specialization in user-centric design, I lead the hardware development of IoT products that can radically change how users interact and live in their environments. Guiding the development of the product’s from early research to launch, my role revolves around prioritizing the elements of hardware design and development that will have the largest impact on the user’s experience of the products. Worked on ecobee3lite, ecobee4, and the Switch+. Including: Leading large multi-disciplinary teams focused on building the future of IoT technology. Managing the BOM, architecture, and growth of hardware development. Engaging with customers in the field to test concepts, working with a research team to evaluate product experiences. Using research insights and competitive analysis to determine minium viable experiences through to in-market growth features. Managing products from the early research and exploration stages through, engineering, design, and certification processes. Creating, managing, and testing 3D prototypes, working with customers and industrial designers. Running rituals with the development team, managing external vendors and CMs, developing custom components and integrations with external partners. Managing and executing customer field trials to validate product experiences prior to the launch of new products. Product development is never confined to developing just the products, but also the system that can lead to great product design. I have worked on evolving how ecobee defines and thinks about the stages of product development, requirements, and tracking costs. Show less
