As an Aftercare Counselor at Academir Charter School Preparatory, I take care of children after school to create a fun and productive environment. During our time together, we do homework, complete fun experiments, all while learning new skills together. As an aftercare teacher, I have been able to impact future generations and help them create healthy behavioral skills and manners to help them on their future endeavors. Although I am the adult, I have also learned important skills while being with different age groups and have gained patience. All in all, this job put me out of my comfort zone and exposed me to being a role model in the lives of the children I encounter. Show less
