Computer Vision Research Intern

• Developed a regression and classification pipeline to extract features from raw biological data for inferring patterns from the images of leaves and fruits of Azadirachta Indica (Neem) tree. • Predicted the content of a commercially important plant metabolite called Azadirachtin, using a deep learning- based object detector (YOLOv5) and custom trained Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). • Evaluated the performance of over 5 SOTA CNNs and fine-tuned their weights by doing Hyperparameter Evolution using Genetic Algorithms. • Increased the F1 score of the classification approach using YOLOv5 to 80% with a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 75% to classify the images into two classes of High and Low metabolites.
