Attending to customers e.g. product advice, as a cashier, making sales, location of products and other general queries. Managing stock; fast-filling shelves, taking out deliveries, the use of a PPL to monitor stock, distribution of Christmas stock palettes to the stock-room or floor and assigning colleagues to this. Handling of cash notes: at the till as a supervisor, counting and keeping records of the day's make at the end of the night, identifying false notes. Working as a team: busy periods involved team-work to maximise efficiency while getting products to the shelves and maintaining a high level of customer care at the same time. Changing of the floor plan and stocking shelves often required good team work for efficiency. Show less

Involved hands on work and applying the knowledge I learnt throughout my degree to real-life situations. Worked closely with thoroughbred yearlings and mares regarding feeding regimes, treatments, exercising and handling to meet vital industry standards, as well as travelling abroad for equine sales and taking sole charge of monitoring yearling weights, creating graphs and trends throughout the season. Meeting and working with key players in the industry through my work and degree helped me to establish a good reputation along with my continued effort to learn more and more about the industry.
