I had the pleasure of working alongside Paul at Nominet for 4 years. He is an excellent Engineering Manager and Team Leader. We worked closely on several critical projects with tight deadlines which we managed to successfully see though thanks to Pauls excellent communication, organisation, leadership, and technical know-how. Always proactive, Paul will seek to solve problems before then even arise and not just settle for good by push for great. What really sets Paul apart, is his ability to always stay positive and keep team moral high even when facing extremely tough challenges and lead the team through to success. I know many of the things we achieved together wouldn’t have been possible without Paul’s talent, hard work, and dedication.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Paul for over three years, during which time I saw him lead extremely challenging, business-critical projects with dedication and commitment. He always went above and beyond to ensure that our team delivered on time, often working late into the night to ensure project success. Paul has an impressive ability to think outside of the box and find creative solutions to problems. Whenever he identified a problem, he brought together a group to resolve it and personally contributed to the solution, making sure to challenge the status quo and suggest innovative approaches. Paul has strong technical skills and is proficient in a number of programming languages. He is able to explain complex technical concepts in a way that is easily understandable to different stakeholders. Over the years, Paul's delegation skills have improved significantly as his teams have grown in size, giving him more time to work on strategic initiatives. I've seen him interact regularly with senior management to offer suggestions, which have always been appreciated. As an effective people manager, Paul helped his staff create development plans and continuously provided mentorship, guidance and pastoral support. Lastly, Paul is an excellent communicator, thriving in presentations and demos, which makes him a great asset to any team. It's without reservation that I highly recommend Paul for any role that requires a dedicated, experienced, and highly effective development manager.

Since being promoted to my new role; Acting CTO I have created a plan to migrate P4D from it's current traditional architecture to a modern compartmentalised distributed system using best in class suppliers where relevant. My main responsibilities from hire through to the current day would be: 1. Stabilising the technology stack from previous business ownership. 2. Leading software design decisions and planning future phases of development. 3. Day to day management of the development process and implementation of projects. 4. Software development where required using web technologies full stack 5. Liaising with IT integration managers, customers, internal stake holders and management team including reporting to CEO/FD and Operations Director. Under my careful considered approach we have managed to stabilise our technology platform & get the systems and IT ready for future growth and achieved a 99.9% uptime across the duration of my role. From the early days of almost daily fire-fighting to the present day has definitely been journey which has taught me to turn IT problems into business problems and then into solutions.
