Bio
E. Tim Carl, FAIA
Jessica Horstkotte first joined HGA as an intern in 2013 where she immediately demonstrated an aptitude for leadership, communication and creative organizational thinking that I would have expected from someone with many more years of experience. As part of the University of Minnesota’s research internship program she led a research project looking at the role an architecture firm can play in helping support and build the communities we work in. As a full time employee she then led a process to design how HGA organizes our contributions to our community, now called HGA Community Action. The results have been phenomenal with programs being successfully implemented in all of our offices. Jessica’s talent, emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership skills have made her incredibly valuable on every project she works on. Most recently she helped lead our successful effort to win a national profile project at Bowdoin College, where she is an alumni. If we could open an office in Ohio to keep Jessica at HGA we would-she is an incredible talent. Tim Carl Chief Executive Officer HGA

Jessica possess unparalleled skills, talent aptitude and intelligence that sets her apart as a leader. I’ve worked closely with Jessica for five years and enthusiastically attest to her significant contributions to advance the architectural merits of specific projects as well as possessing a curious mindset, a thoughtful design approach and a rigor to elevating our profession. She dovetails her commitment to social impact design with her ability to translate design goals into creative solutions for a wide range of clients and building typologies. Jessica brings to all of her activities energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. As a professional, Jessica earns my highest recommendation.
