I work with an interdisciplinary team of students to lower the University of Hawaii's footprint and energy bill. Our group's work on Saunders Hall has net a $150,000 annual savings, while spending virtually no money. We are now attempting to spread what we have learned to other UH buildings, as well as Keone'ula Elementary School in Ewa Beach, our pilot school for the Hawaii DOE to continue the work throughout the K-12 system. In my position at Bamboo Flooring Hawaii, I worked on several aspects of the business. I began running ads on Craigslist.com to clear out our warehouses, and I was very successful in generating revenue for the company while regaining warehouse space. I also researched and authored the keynote address and PowerPoint presentation made my my employer at the 2010 World Flooring Summit in Shanghai China.
