I have known Jonathan for over 15 years in my capacity as the human resources leader for Hyatt. He has the ability to forge strong and trusting relationships with his supervisor, peers and those that report in to him. He is capable of aligning the HR function to support the business needs and help the organization to achieve superior business results. Jonathan is a strong leader who has high integrity, technical knowledge and empathy towards others. He is capable of leading multi-site responsibilities if that opportunity presented itself.

For the past two years I have had the pleasure of working with a true Human Resource professional in Jonathan Chaplowe. He has been an instrument of positive change in a very fast moving environment and company culture and positioned the People and Culture functions in our hotel toward great success. Jonathan has made such a huge impact on the Joule and the Lumen Hotels. Jonathan’s passion for people is evident in all that he does. Not only does he truly understand the importance of structure and HR compliance but he has been crucial to our culture. He has successfully worked to create and maintain a culture that is driven by taking care of our people. He is extremely focused on employee growth and development; he is considered a mentor by many. Many of the initiatives he has put into place have helped in reducing turnover and truly providing an atmosphere that is focused on people. We have seen a tremendous growth in our Ambassador Engagement scores since he started with us. Just a couple of noteworthy areas include overall satisfaction, feeling valued and a part of the organization and its future as well as overall communication property wide. It has been great to see the change he has made and all of this has been done during a time of major transition and growth company wide. I respect Jonathan very much. I appreciate that regardless of what is going on, he will always take the time to provide guidance and sound direction. He has spent a lot of time with me and has helped me in many ways. I will forever be grateful for our many chats and the growth I’ve experienced by taking his advice. I have truly enjoyed working with Jonathan and can’t imagine the Joule without him.
