UROP Research Internship
-
Jul 2018 - Oct 2018
Throughout the summer, I have been working on a UROP project funded by the University of Reading. The title - Offences Against the Person? Tracing hidden LGB histories through Berkshire Court Records, 1861-1919, supervises by Katherine Harloe, Associate Professor in Classics and Intellectual History, and Mark Stevens, Berkshire County Archivist. This project involved primary research through archive documents in order to collate a list of individuals convicted of homosexual ‘offences’; then, we began biographical research to place the individuals ‘act’ within the context of his life. As a result of this research internship, I will be co-authoring an academic journal article due to be published before the end of this year.
