LABORATORY UNIT ~ Type of analysis - *Quantitative and qualitative Learnt:- *Phytochemical Analysis of samples (water, ash, plant extract, ginger, lemon etc.) Analysis of flavonoid, saponin, ascorbic acid, sulphate, phenols, tannin etc. *Microbial analysis on fresh horticultural produce *Processing of horticultural produce (fruits, vegetables, flowers) to produce or develop new products (fruits juice and beverages, ginger and lemon powder etc.) PROCESSING Processing start from the raw material preparation ( harvesting the horticultural produce and preparing it for sorting, cleaning etc.). size reduction through cutting, milling to paste, or grinding etc. Juice extractor is used to extract the juice while remain is the junks (filter cake). Heating is by pasteurization / Blanching (mild heat treatment), the bottle is capped using a bottle capper / corking machine, packaging and labelling, all makes the product standard.
