    • Assistant City Manager/ Human Resources Director
      • Apr 2021 - Present

My role encompasses a myriad of different municipal functions that allows for varied (and challenging) work, as well as opportunity to hone skills in communication, leadership, public speaking, training, and budgeting. I work closely with the City Manager, Councilors, staff, and other stakeholders on issues of vital importance. I directly oversee the local transit system, called the Community Connector, and all related HR functions associated with a workforce of approximately 600 employees. I lead negotiations for 14 collective bargaining agreements, staff committee(s), and assist with yearly budget of $100+ million. Additionally, I work collaboratively on projects, such as our regional climate action plan and communications (social media, website), as well as the review, development, and revision of ordinances and policies. Overall, the diversity of my role has me learning new things every day in Maine's third largest community. Show less

    • Town Manager
      • Jul 2019 - Sep 2020

I was the first new manager in over four decades. In just over a year, I updated and overhauled the Town's accounting and budgeting system, instituted regular team meetings, and worked with staff to successfully update many vital internal procedures. I also created a Town social media presence for increased communication with the public, initiated ordinance review and updates, and guided the Select Board and other Town boards and committees with sound, professional advice. As the Town Manager I oversaw all day-to-day operations of the Town including the various departments such as Fire, Recreation, Assessing, Code Enforcement and more, along with grant and project management. I led, supervised, and guided a dozen full-time employees and a handful of part-time employees. I also developed and administered a $4 million budget. As Road Commissioner, I inspected roads, created work plans, worked with sub-contractors, and generally maintained the 42-ish miles of road. I responded and investigated all sorts of citizen complaints and worked to resolve them in a timely manner. Overall, my goal was to bring fairness, transparency, and accountability through professionalism and high ethical standards to better position Casco moving forward. Show less

I was the Town Manager, Tax Collector, Treasurer, and Road Commissioner for the Town of Stockton Springs. I oversaw all day to day operations of the Town with a staff of about a dozen and worked collaboratively with the team to provide valuable services to citizens. I developed necessary policies, revised procedures, and educated staff. I successfully managed a $1.7 million budget and the purchase of several large pieces of equipment without negatively impacting the mil rate. I led the Town through the process of converting to solar energy, developed a social media presence, overhauled the website and facilitated the review and update of several key ordinances. Show less

Shortly after being hired, I took my position from part-time to full-time through progressive responsibility by learning quick, taking initiative, and adapting to changing demands and priorities. As the general “go-to” person, I was responsible for a wide variety of duties from Human Resources to volunteer coordination to donor relations.
