While the pandemic and resulting lockdowns in 2020 unfortunately caused so many professional relationships to be hindered, the increase in virtual networking opportunities actually fostered one of my most valued professional relationships to date—with Daniel Guajardo. Our professional relationship quickly progressed from a name on an email thread to a valued colleague and team member enthusiastic to share ideas and encourage the people around them to be their best selves in a workplace that seemed to grow more disconnected by the day. Daniel is not afraid to ask the tough questions and put you on the spot, but never does so in an attempt to catch you off guard or make a fool of you—only to make you think in a way that you may not have come to naturally. As the creator of the Young Professionals Committee at ConnexFM, it took me all of five minutes to decide to approach Daniel to ask him to co-chair the committee.
