Real Estate Analyst

May 2014 - Aug 2014
As an intern at S.A. Goodsell Development, I worked as a Real Estate Analyst. Our clients were banks such as Synovus, Ardent, and several others. These clients hired Goodsell Development to accurately value properties they owned. Our clients owned parcels of land that were not valued correctly by county officials, leading to our clients paying too high of taxes for their properties' worth. The Georgia law requires land to be priced at its fair market value, which includes foreclosed sales. As an intern I worked hard to find the fair market price of these properties by providing evidence through market research. To build our case for a lower value, I looked for prices of comparable properties that supported our claims. Finding the correct values for properties required research and use of real estate databases such as GSCCA and qPublic. My boss, Mr. Goodsell, presented our cases in county courts using the evidence and research I had found and compiled. I went to several of these hearings, and we were successful at lowering values determined by the county for our clients.

Bank of America Student Leadership Program
-
Jun 2010 - Aug 2010
I was hired by Bank of America as part of their esteemed Student Leadership Program to partner with Communities In Schools, a national non-profit organization that works with "at-risk" kids in low-income communities. I spent six weeks at a local elementary school with two other Communities In Schools employees organizing and leading a summer school session. The next six weeks I worked in their main office. Here I worked with aspects of their financial planning where I reviewed donations and learned where and how they were allocated. Bank of America sponsored me to attend the 2010 Student Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. with other Bank of America Student Leader interns, which served as an unparalleled learning experience.
