  This was an extension to my team's fourth-year engineering design project. Together we designed, developed, and marketed a road navigation system focused on electric vehicles. Within this team, I acted as the lead designer and developer for data access, data aggregation, and model learning systems. I also assisted in development of local computational models for vehicle kinematics, battery charge, and traffic interactions. Most development work was done in Python, with some number crunching algorithms in C, and some data storage/access in MongoDB.

  DairyCheq produces data collection and monitoring systems to regulate the environment and sanitation in dairy farms. I was hired by DairyCheq to act as their primary software researcher and developer for their latest monitoring product. Within this role, I designed and developed a wide variety of system components; from the device boot sequencing, to data persistence, to a remote troubleshooter. I also performed in-field failure analyses of prototype devices. Software development was done primarily in C, with some work in Python, JavaScript, and PHP. Device troubleshooting typically involved electronic testing equipment, especially signal analyzers.

  Teledyne Dalsa produces specialized cameras for industrial sectors. I worked with Teledyne Dalsa's mechanical engineering team for two co-op terms, for both the winter and fall terms of 2011. My primary role was that of a mechanical engineer, but I also undertook a series of software projects aimed at improving the quality of work of my colleagues. My mechanical work included designing, prototyping, testing, improving, and releasing a variety of camera components, optical testing equipment, and assembly fixtures. The software I developed for the mechanical team included AutoDesk Inventor plugins - to streamline fastener use in assemblies, and to improve the drawing editing process - and a standalone application to capture, map, and validate wiring schemes from sensor packages to their dies. Mechanical design, drawing control, and analysis was done with AutoDesk Inventor, while software work was done with Python, C#, C++, and SQL.
