Essential Scribe is a medical scribe company dedicated to alleviating the burden of medical documentation from physicians across various specialties. Working alongside two interventional cardiologists, I document the patient’s medical history and all relevant information. As a scribe liaison, I create the schedules for ten scribes, onboard new hires, complete chart audits, and oversee site-specific policies. Augmedix is a medical documentation company that offers a virtual scribing option for clinicians worldwide. Working remotely, I scribed for a family medicine clinic in Iowa. The physician wore Google Glasses, so I could hear the conversation and see the entirety of the office visit in real-time. The diverse group of patients included infants, patients diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and those living in skilled nursing facilities. Laboratory-grade gas chromatography (GC) instrumentation is costly, resource-intensive, and often large and stationary. Several manufacturers have developed portable instruments with higher practical value while maintaining analytical benefits. To further contribute to the field, I created a method to quantitate ethanol in commercially available liquor beverages using the Vernier Go Direct Mini GC (“mini-GC”). By comparing the accuracy and precision of the mini-GC to that of a standard benchtop GC-FID, I assessed my method quality. I also presented my poster at the American Chemical Society (ACS) National Conference.

    • Assistant Resident Director
      • Aug 2019 - May 2021

In this role, I served as the primary supervisor for a front desk staff and handled hiring, payroll, and ongoing support. In serving as a first-response university official, I performed on-call duty rotations and assisted in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive community through programming initiatives. This position also included working closely with Facilities Management to ensure the smooth operation of the building. Through this experience, I further developed my leadership and communication skills.

Our lab researched replication-coupled nucleosome assembly following DNA replication. My specific project used a technique called Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) to quantify the interaction between CAF-1 and PCNA (two proteins involved in gene silencing). This lab group encouraged me to improve my data collection skills, grow as a person by working on a team and apply my knowledge from the classroom into tangible skills. By creating research designs and hypothesis, I developed problem-solving skills and an appreciation for scientific literature. I presented my senior thesis at Creighton’s Honors Day in April 2021.
