Won Bae Suh
I worked alongside James in the ROKAF as Linguist during Joint US-ROK Excercise UFG in 2014. We were also trained in Aviation Logistics (Airframe) during bootcamp. I highly recommend James for his English/Korean communication skills, sociability and professionalism. He was also heavily involved with localization of technical documentations by Boeing. I cannot think of anyone from the Airforce more qualified to work in the Government or Aerospace and Defence industry. James also has a funny streak that makes it an extra pleasure to work with.

As a Project Investigator at Korea Future: • Designed, implemented, monitored, evaluated, and advocated USG (U.S. Government) funded North Korea human rights projects focusing on freedom religious or belief (FoRB) and torture & cruel, inhuman or degrading (CID) treatment within North Korean penal facility. • Researched contemporary forms of slavery and torture within North Korea, and international legal instruments including legislation, administrative regulations and policies applicable to situation of North Korean human rights violations. • Investigated human rights violations in North Korea including arbitrary deprivation of liberty, torture & cruel, inhuman degrading (CID) treatment, and other human rights mandates within North Korean penal facility. • Interviewed 200+ North Korean defectors and identified 400+ victims of human rights violations, 1,000+ accounts of human rights violations and called for justice and accountability to 300+ individual and organizational perpetrators within North Korea. • Drafted North Korean human rights violations report and populated Uwazi (human rights violations database platform) with over 2,000 analysed entities (victims, perpetrators, human rights violations, and penal facilities).
