FBR’s National Data Warehouse is maintaining Pakistani Taxpayers historical data from 2000 onward with the foremost objective of revenue growth and expansion of tax base. These objectives are achieved through rigorous analysis of tax information, identification of gaps and policy improvements through application of cause-and-effect analysis. Tax data is combined with external agencies data to build 3600 view of taxpayer’s financial net worth. Specially designed ETLs processes extract tax data (of Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty and Import Duty domains) from transaction systems, transform it into star-schema data structures and load into Data Warehouse overnight. This data is also cleansed prior to loading in EDW, and populating BI cubes. The EDW is used to prepare analysis, assessment, enforcement and forecasting reports through use of comparative and statistical analysis techniques.
