  Worked on VA National Clozapine Coordination - National Clozapine Registry project as MUMPS programmer. Peformed analysis and modifications on VistA functionality related to Clozapine prescriptions and the tracking of patient data used to monitor adverse effects of treatment. Worked on analysis and definition of new HL7 messages to update NCR database to more thouroughly track patient lab data. Peformed analysis of current nightly HL7 process that examines Clozapine prescriptions and orders and sends associated patient data to NCR. Thoroughly documented the process by detailing code being called and files being accessed. Created new function to send all historical lab data associated with Clozapine patients. Data could be sent to HL7 queue or returned in real time over HealthShare Health Connect interface in JSON format. Also included option to display lab data in a user report. Migrated functionality previously hosted in VistA and run by NCR to function natively on NCR (ADD,UPDATE,DELETE and OVERRIDE Clozapine patients). Added new data elements in VistA received from new native NCR function and coded processing of new data elements using VistA database API utilities. Show less

Developed the client subsystem using a GUI tool on top of Datatree MUMPS in a PC environment. Developed the host subsystem using a GUI tool on top of Greystone MUMPS in a SUN/UNIX environment. After successful completion of project, I was assigned the responsibility of maintaining and upgrading the existing system, as well as providing customer support. Involved in the development of a similar system for another client. This required porting the existing code from the above project and making it work under a new set of conditions. Show less
