Rumpl makes outdoor blankets inspired by nature and crafted with modern materials and technologies. I gained experience in customer service and point of sale tools, including ZenDesk, Shopify, Shipstation and Iterable. Show less

    • Manager of Supportive Programming
      • Jun 2015 - Aug 2017

CAP is a non-profit offering full-spectrum services to test for HIV and assist those living with it. As part of the Housing and Supportive Services management team, I supervised nine employees spanning five different programs: The Peer Support Program, Bridges to Work Employment Program, Client Service Center, Kids Connection Summer Camp and Holiday Events, CAP Reception. With a wide range of programs serving hundreds of clients annually, this role required a high level of flexibility, resourcefulness, hard work and support of direct reports. Responsibilities included creating and monitoring program budgets, personnel oversight and hiring, program evaluation and implementation, direct client interaction and quality assurance, and community outreach and networking. Due to the high stress work in this field, I emphasized creating a safe and supportive workplace for all of my direct reports. I encouraged self-care for staff and used active listening and a strengths-based approach to leadership. I also value creativity and making things fun. For example, in my role as HIPAA compliance officer -- which can be a boring subject for most -- I used humor and creativity to make the material fun and engaging for all staff. Show less

  • HomePlate Youth Services
    • Washington County, OR.
    • Outreach Coordinator
      • Apr 2013 - Jun 2015

HomePlate supports the positive development of young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability through community building, education, access to services and resources, and youth empowerment. As the Outreach Coordinator, I was primarily tasked with organizing and implementing street outreach efforts, including leading outreach staff and volunteers in HomePlate's efforts to "meet youth where they are at." During outreach, I engaged with homeless and at-risk youth (ages of 12-24) in various public settings, including libraries, transit stops and parks. I also provided basic case management to youth that regularly attended HomePlate's drop-in dinners. While at these dinners, I would make a consistent effort to check in with various youth, provide an open ear for listening, as well as specialized support when needed. I also acted as a contact point for networking efforts with government, non-profit and for-profit institutions. Show less

      • Sep 2009 - Sep 2012

During my service, I was involved in facilitating improved hygienic practices among the people of San Juan Bautista, Ica, Peru. My work most often involved working with community partners to facilitate sustainable projects such as improved cook stoves, sexual education campaigns, and youth camps. Additionally, I was routinely involved in teaching English and art to both youth and adults. I worked with both private and public Peruvian institutions throughout my service and gained valuable experience in project management and evaluation, as well as grant writing. I also gained or reinforced important skills and traits, including public speaking, team building, creativity, patience, flexibility, organization, and of course the importance of keeping your sense of humor during difficult times. • Shelter Caretaker
      • Oct 2008 - May 2009

I worked as a caretaker at SafeHaven, the YWCA's seasonal family shelter. I processed families as they came and left the shelter, maintained and organized client records, provided transportation for families who only used the shelter during the day, and worked with case managers to better support client needs. My shifts were long, and comprised of both day and night shifts. During the night shifts, I was in charge of cleaning the facilities as to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all to use. Furthermore, I often found myself the sole manager of the facilities for long periods of time, which required a great deal of organizational skills, patience, and the ability to resolve conflicts among the clients. After the shelter closed for the season, I was retained by the YWCA for an additional time to continue data entry and client follow-up. Show less
