Mike and I have worked together for several years on the Fremantle Community Wind Farm. I was the unofficial project manager, and when Mike joined he quickly became an integral part of the team by making valuable contributions in many different aspects of the project. He took on a wide range of activities including managing our online presence and graphical design, and he took an active role in our community engagement. His organisational skills improved the way we tracked actions and made the team more efficient. He has also engaged with the engineering and commercial development of the wind farm. Mike is a very enthusiastic and talented engineer, and a pleasure to work with.

Mike was always a pleasure to work with. He balanced an eye for detail with being able to see the bigger picture - thus limiting digging into unnecessary detail. He was flexible, always willing to try something new, and very knowledgeable with an interesting mix of detailed mining knowledge and energy and carbon expertise. I would not fail to recommend Mike.

The Fremantle Community Wind Farm Cooperative is a proposed community-owned wind farm of 8-12 turbines on our state land at Fremantle Port. We are currently being blocked by the Fremantle Port Authority from leasing land, for reasons that have not been transparently communicated. To overcome this barrier we are educating the community about the project, and trying to focus and coordinate their support. www.fremantlewindfarm.com.au The Port of Fremantle is uniquely suited to a wind power project. Planning approvals are simplified because the Port is an active industrial area with existing structures of comparable height (cranes), and an ambient noise profile which already exceeds that of a wind farm. The locations proposed for the turbines are exposed to strong unobstructed winds from the South West, “the Fremantle Doctor”. In addition the project is situated on the ‘front-lawn’ of the State, presenting great iconic and tourism value. Show less

Coordinating a team of four Commercial & Contract Managers (also performing Sales Support) in the Asia-Pacific Sales team. We do wide variety of work (think of us as the "Swiss Army knives" of Sales), often under the intense time pressure of bid submissions, internal approvals, and contract negotiations. Our tasks include:> building wind farm cost models with inputs from internal stakeholders including Treasury, Supply Chain, Project Management, Legal, Service, and Insurance – cutting across the entire business.> coordinating risk analysis of potential sales bids with dozens of cross-disciplinary stakeholders> preparing board papers for internal approvals of C-suite management in head office> reviewing contracts for commercial risks, often during high-pressure negotiations> preparing cash flow models, insurance quotes, new market entries, and other ad-hoc analysis including building internal tools to automate tasks> spearheading various continuous improvement initiatives locally, and assisting with diverse range of process optimisation projects globally Show less

I am passionate about independent travel, connecting with vastly different people, and the power of photographic stories to help bridge cultural chasms. Since 2007 I've been exploring this amazing planet's obscure places, part-time. After months of planning, editing and customising, in January 2015 I launched my website – and with it, myself full-time into this project. MichaelFuller.ca is a hub for stories, advice, and photo-essays. Engaging with newsletters, RSS, and social media I am sharing my experiences to inspire, entertain, educate, and demonstrate the benefits of travelling with an open mind and an open heart. In March 2016 I completed my crowdfunded photography book, The World at Work: People Doing Rare, Traditional, or Surprisingly Common Jobs You've Never Seen Before. It was a major project involving 10 years of travel and 6 months of planning and execution. Without any hired help, I • created and marketed a crowdfunding campaign; • successfully pre-sold over 100 copies, generating over $3000 USD seed capital for printing; • curated the photographs and stories from 10 years of trips; • taught myself graphic design principles, and Adobe InDesign; • printed and distributed the book to supporters in 10+ countries on time and within budget Check it all out: MichaelFuller.ca || Join the mailing list to never miss a story: www.EEPurl.com/YUT1f || Get social: facebook.com/www.michaelfuller.ca and Twitter @ONEproj Show less

Providing freelance renewable energy and energy management consulting services to a number of organisations globally, including: • EcoTrust Canada (an Aboriginal community economic development consultancy in western Canada). I modelled four renewable energy options for a fringe-of-grid aboriginal community, aiming to reduce energy costs while also allowing them improved energy access and greater economic opportunities. • Energetics (a boutique carbon and energy management consultancy in Australia). I helped investigate the economic case for an underground ventilation energy management system at a remote mine site. This opportunity would achieve a safer and more productive mine while also reducing diesel costs and carbon emissions. Show less

Energetics is a specialist management consultancy celebrating 30 years of providing energy and carbon advisory services and solutions to Australia's leading businesses and governments. We partner with our clients to:• benchmark and optimise energy performance,• find cost savings, and• reduce technology, compliance and financial risks to position for market leadership and drive investor confidence. As a Manager I was responsible for balancing business development and project management (on-time & on-budget) while meeting high billable targets. Achievements included: • Growing small client relationships and establishing a number of brand new ones in the resource sector, to become a trusted advisor to numerous ASX100-listed companies• Assisting with corporate strategy for major oil & gas client. This included internal policies on flaring and energy management, with potential flow-on to public policies and lobbying positions. • Guiding a number of young/small companies through an unfamiliar and dynamic landscape of legislation (ie carbon pricing, energy reporting, funding opportunities, GRI sustainability reporting) while minimising costs and maximising funding opportunities. For many, we built their internal capacity so they could manage without the "annual gravy train" of consultant's fees. Projects included:• Developing two innovative new service offerings: -- a unique underground ventilation energy management system with guaranteed savings. It combined data capture, automated/telemetry technology, and data visibility levers for behaviour change. -- a leased-renewables business model for fuel savings in off-grid mines• Mapping BI decision-making framework across an entire major oil & gas client. We revealed surprising inconsistencies, prioritised and roadmapped the opportunities, and inspired various internal spin-off improvements within the business. Show less

Energetics is a specialist management consultancy celebrating 30 years of providing energy and carbon advisory services and solutions to Australia's leading businesses and governments. My work focused on energy management and business improvement in the resource industry (mining and oil & gas). I assisted them with:• Initiating and managing energy efficiency improvement projects, and coordinating programs including internationally-regarded EEO. • Managing all levels of energy management business improvement processes. This includes contextual data collection/analysis, workshop facilitation, scoping analysis, and developing business case presentations to decision makers.• Building data collection and management tools for compliance reporting (EEO, NGER, NPI), and benchmarking sustainability data (for strategy and annual reporting)• Developing material for and facilitating numerous on-site workshops. There we identified, analysed and implemented business improvement measures relating to energy/carbon.• Interpreting, adapting and complying with a dynamic landscape of energy and carbon legislation (including the introduction of the Carbon Pricing Mechanism). This included a 6-month secondment to the Carbon Team of a major oil & gas client. Show less
