    • Private Pilot
      • Mar 1978 - Feb 2009

Began flying in 1978 and obtained my Private Pilot Certificate in Marh of 1979 at Mesa's Falcon Field. In those days, Falcon Field was a small airport in the country. In 1985 I built and flew my own Gyrocopter. I was featured in newspapers, magazines, air shows, and local news stations for my exotic aircraft. My claim to fame was flying for a film company hired by Milton Bradley. I survived many years of incredibly fun flying. In 2006 I purchased a cessna on ebay from a guy in Birmingham. My flight to Arizona turned into more of an adventure which resulted in an unscheduled landing on a dirt road in a desolate desert area outside Alamagordo New Mexico. Show less

    • Lieutenant
      • Aug 1975 - Aug 1988

Supervised a fire crew. My firefighting experience began as a part-time firefighter then moved into an engineer position. I operated the Ladder truck at station 10 in Scottsdale. The truck was a 1938 Pirsch with an 85-foot ladder. Very cool truck but vintage and small compared to today's standards - but hey, Scottsdale's population back then was only about 50,000! Soon I moved into a Lieutenant position and supervised the fire crew. Another fun job! Supervised a fire crew. Anybody who lived in the valley in the 70's and 80's remembers Legend City and Wallace and Ladmo. I fired and sometimes engineered the locomotive that pulled the train around the park. We often stopped at the rear of the park for Tom Mix to perform the shoot-out in the western town. Too much fun!
