Advised unit level Commanders in planning, coordinating, and executing fires plans and served as subject matter expert on the capabilities and limitations of all indirect fire assets, including attack helicopter and fixed wing platforms. As a Staff Sergeant, led Forward Observation teams between 5 and 25 personnel. Deployed as a Platoon Forward Observer and Joint Fires Observer in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Conducted over 275 mounted and dismounted patrols, over 80 indirect fire missions, and 25 close air support missions with a 100% success rate. Trained over nine U.S. Soldiers and thirty Afghan Security Forces on direct and indirect fire, and four other Forward Observers on air-to-ground integration over the course of these deployments.
