I have worked with Tom now for a number of years. He is an extremely able account manager, who whilst sales orientated, is also fully aware of the fact that good account management has the two fold effect of creating relationships for the long term and cultivating retention and ultimately sales and crucially profit. People buy from people and so Tom's strength is that he is a people person and also extremely likeable. He is a nice person to have around and his customers show quite clearly that he is welcome in their business and that they enjoy doing business with him. On a personal level, I have always found Tom very easy to get along with and he has the ability to learn and retain knowledge very well. I worked with Tom for around 18 months during my time at R&R. When he arrived he bought with him a wealth of experience and ideas from outside our company and industry. He became a key part of the team and although at the time he wasn’t in a management position he set a great example for new and existing colleagues alike. He often shared best practices and the things that helped him become successful in his role and helped bring his colleagues up to his standard of work. It was no surprise to see Tom promoted to a senior member of the team after such a short period and I’m sure he’ll continue to go up the ladder at what ever organisation he works with.
