David ARMSTRONG

I had the pleasure of working with James from his time as an early career teacher, outdoor educator and his progression into the leadership of student wellbeing and staff. James has a remarkable capacity to connect with young people, through a caring, authentic and generous approach in all domains - the classroom, behind a camera, in the middle of a dark deep gorge or in the most difficult conversations. His is truly altruistic, motivated by serving others and bringing out their best - young and old. He has a remarkable intellect and is always curious to find the best solution, often pushing others to take more time and careful consideration in tough circumstances. He is very hard working and dependable - never shying away for volunteering for the hardest and messiest (literally) jobs.
