I have known Dr. LaTasha Burns for over 10 years working at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I have collaborated with her in multiple safety and improvement projects. Dr. Burns is an outstanding leader. She is an expert in healthcare safety and always led her Patient Safety Team with great enthusiasm and discipline. Her initiatives and accomplishments earned her the respect of other leaders in MD Anderson. She exemplified the hospital’s values and mission. Dr. Burns has great communication skills and an ability to explain complex things in a simple manner. She enjoys mentoring others and is always interested in learning. Her vast experience as an executive and her desire to learn and her ability to connect with people make her an asset to any organization.

She models strength, commitment, and dedication and understands the value of working with others while respecting their input and contributions. LaTasha has always been a hard worker and able to work well under pressure. She is always open to take on a new challenge and will not give up until the job is complete. Her work ethic and leadership abilities are admirable to many. She is usually the first to take on a new task and does not mind helping others to maximize their potential. LaTasha's strengths include the ability to set personal and professional goals, as evidenced by her goal to obtain her doctorate. LaTasha is a kindhearted, giving, and committed professional who is very focused on achieving a high academic standard while enjoying working with and helping people. She is extremely organized, responsible, a hard worker and diligent in following through on her word and I believe that she will make a strong contribution in all that she does.
