Within the Ministry of the Solicitor General, supporting the Inspector General of Policing to work respectfully and professionally with policing partners responsible for the delivery of policing to meet legislative obligations; to help transform policing and the relationship between the police and broader community. Providing strategic leadership to collaborate and deliver concrete results in a complex environment; building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of internal/external stakeholders and partners to provide strategic advice and analysis, address immediate issues and ensure key initiatives align with business and ministry interests. The Inspectorate of Policing is a division that will monitor, advise, conduct inspections and investigate complaints with respect to the delivery of policing and compliance with the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (CSPA) and its regulations, as well as investigate complaints related to board member misconduct. In this role, reporting to the Inspector General of Policing (IG) /Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM): • Provide strategic analysis, advice and executive support to the IG/ADM and Directors with regards to the strategic planning of the Division and a range of communication and information requirements. • Ensure key activities and initiatives across the Division align with the direction, commitments and interests of the Inspectorate of Policing and Ministry. • Plan and carry out a variety of special projects and assignments on behalf of the IG/ADM to address immediate issues requiring research, analysis, and coordination of information and input from various sources. • Coordinate and ensure the quality and timeliness of briefing materials, submissions, correspondence and responses, prioritizing requests, responses, and follow-up activities.
